Eclipse Coffee Roasters sits just off the highway in Dead Man’s Flats, tucked behind a gas station which means it slips under the radar if you’re not looking for it. Step inside, though, and the space opens up into a bright, spacious café with plenty of seating—perfect whether you’re settling in for some focused laptop work or catching up with friends. Large windows let in generous afternoon sunlight, which softens the industrial exterior and adds a calm, relaxed vibe.

The coffee here is the real draw. Customers appreciate the carefully balanced roasts served without the need for extra sugar or cream, highlighting the beans’ smooth, clean flavors. Whether you’re after a no-nonsense black coffee or a more creative option like their caramel or seasonal lavender lattes, the drinks are consistent and well-executed without bitterness. The baristas clearly know their craft, making this a solid stop for anyone who cares about a quality cup.

Pastries and treats lean toward unique choices, such as blackberry cheese danishes and both sweet and savory pies, which fit well with the café’s approachable yet thoughtful feel. Prices are reasonable given the quality, avoiding the disconnect that sometimes crops up in road-side cafés.

Beyond the drinks and food, Eclipse also invites you to linger thanks to its local touches. There’s a small merch section where you can grab bags of coffee, tea, syrups, and even branded gear like t-shirts and thermoses. Plus, if you’re someone who carries a reusable cup, you’ll appreciate a discount on your brew, emphasizing a friendly, community-focused approach.

It’s the kind of place that works for a quiet afternoon escape from busier spots nearby. Whether you’re stopping in as part of a road trip through the Rockies or looking for a low-key local hangout, Eclipse Coffee Roasters offers a comfortable setting with well-made drinks and a sense of care in its details.

The coffee was smooth- even without a bunch of sugar and cream. My caramel latte was very good. Didn't have any bitterness, either. I got a blackberry cheese danish, and it was amazing. Everything in the display case looked unique and super tasty. The prices were acceptable since the things we got were actually very good (unlike some places where quality and price don't align)! The atmosphere was very relaxing and clean. They even had some games like "Sorry" and chess, I think.

Cute coffee shop with lots of seating in Deadman’s Flats. Great selection of teas and treats (including sweet and savoury pies). Elderberry hibiscus tea was delicious! Nice big windows catch the afternoon sun. Merch section where you can buy items like coffee, tea, oat milk, syrups, coffee making supplies, and house branded t-shirts & thermoses. Other notes: - bring a reusable cup/thermos for $0.50 off! - Parking available on the east side of the building, in the retail customer’s lot. - Would be wheelchair accessible (slightly hilly/sloped from parking lot, but paved sidewalk goes up to the door and store is level once inside). - Potential for nut and wheat cross contamination, just based on options available (depends on allergy severity).

Blink and you’ll miss it! Nestled behind a gas station along the highway is this lil cafe. From the outside it’s a bit hard to see, but inside is expansive and comfortable. Lots of seating and very cosy atmosphere for working on laptop or hanging with friends. The coffee is GOOD!! Excellent roast, balanced flavour profile and the barista knows her stuff. Enjoyed my brew and was a relaxing experience en route to Banff.

Loved it so much on the way to our destination that we had to come back on the way home! The lavender latte they had as a special was delicious, and the Cosma Honduras pour over I had was a perfect cup. The pastries were yummy, but not mind-blowing. Having said that, I'd eat all of them again The environment was tranquil, it seemed like a good place to relax and read, or maybe get a little work done. Easy to lose track of time as you sip and look out the large windows at the mountains beyond.

Great coffee with beautiful latte art. The café is spacious and located in a quieter area, which makes the experience so much better than the busy city center.

Very modern looking café. Very quiet place, too. Pastries are overpriced, staff isn't the nicest but the coffee is great; strong but not bitter.

Awesome new addition to Dead Man’s Flat! Stopped in for a coffee on our way to Canmore and was greeted by a very friendly man. Coffee was good, atmosphere was nice, great big and clean space. Would highly recommend!
